MOUNT VERNON — The Dogwood Blossoms Chorus, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, will present their annual show, “What’s Brewing, Miss Lola,” on Sunday, at 3 p.m., at Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Thorne Performance Hall at 800 Martinsburg Road, Mount Vernon.

Barb Blaschke and Susie Noland are co-chairing this year’s event; Donna Dudgeon will direct the chorus with the assistance of Karen Burgess. Several guests, including David Calland, Natalie Berdahl and Kristen Baldeschwiler, will be onstage with the chorus to help tell the comedic and musical tale of Miss Lola as she makes some changes in her business establishment.

“The Core,” an internationally known, award-winning men’s a cappella quartet based in the Columbus area, will be the featured guest performers. “The Core” originally formed in 2013 and are currently ranked 10th internationally by The Barbershop Harmony Society. Current members include Michael Nesler, Josh Van Gorder, Mike Hull, and Stephen Denino.

Two quartets from Dogwood Blossoms Chorus will also perform. “Back in Business” (Dixie Waite, Barb Bower, Susan Baldeschwiler and Barb Snow) has been singing together for several years. “The CeeGees” (Gail Piper, Ginny Williams, Cindy Brown and Cindy Dils) is a newly formed group.

Tickets for the show are available in advance at the main office of First-Knox National Bank; from any chorus member; by calling 740-720-3221; or online at www.eventbrite.com. Tickets will also be available at the door.
