MOUNT VERNON — J. Kathleen Risko, 76, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019. She was born in Akron July 30, 1943 to the late Frank and Janice (Russell) Aiken.

Kathleen moved to North Myrtle Beach 25 years ago and would come back to the Mount Vernon area a few times a year to visit with family and friends. She loved her beach, shopping, crossword puzzles, tooling around in her red Mustang, Ohio State Football, Ron’s Pizza, Dirko’s Strombolis, and her canine companion Brutus.

Kathleen is survived by her children, Michael (Kathie Dove) Risko, Mark Risko, Deb (Richard D’Eredita) Risko, Susan (Clint) Workman; grandchildren, Ashlee (Aaron), Victoria, Isabelle, Lane, Allie, Gillian, Jeremy, Genevieve, Jackson, Anthony; a brother, Mark Aiken; a sister, Bonnie Crum; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Kathleen is preceded in death by her brother, John Aiken.

A celebration of life service will take place Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019 beginning at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 200 North Main Street, Mount Vernon.
