MOUNT VERNON — Early voting begins today for the Nov. 5 election.

Voting will be held at the Knox County Board of Elections, 117 East High Street, Mount Vernon, in the county service building. Absentee ballots can be requested between today and Nov. 2. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8-11, Oct. 14-18 and Oct. 21-25. Hours for Oct. 28-31 are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Early voting hours for November are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 1; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 2; 1-5 p.m. Nov. 3; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 4.

Absentee ballot deadlines for the Nov. 5 election are as follows: noon Nov. 2, deadline to request an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 4 and/or turned in by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 5.
