MOUNT VERNON — Richard Eugene “Rick” Dailey, 59, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, Oct. 4, 2019, at his home. He was born in Mansfield to the late Richard Edwin and Gene L. (Lewis) Dailey.

Rick retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center. He was a member of the Church at Chapel Hill near Mount Vernon where he was active with the choir and the men’s fellowship group. Rick was an avid fan of the Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, the Blue Jackets and Ryan Blaney #12 on the NASCAR series.

Rick is survived by his wife, Joy Lynn (Combs) Dailey; son, Richard Aaron Dailey of Bowling Green; step children, Kurt (Heather) Miller of Mount Vernon and Veronica (Sherry Denney) Miller of Mount Vernon; step grandchildren, Laith Suliman, Remah Suliman, Amiera Suliman, Anthony Denney, Brittany Sparkman, Kennedy Jo Miller, Murron O’Neill, Moira Miller, Mahra Miller and Morgan Miller and five step great-grandchildren; brothers, Jeff (Violet) Dailey of Mount Vernon and Keith “Skip” (Markettys) Dailey of Newark; several nieces and nephews; uncles and aunts, Keith (Pat) Lewis of Alabama and Wade “Buzz” (Nancy) Lewis of Hamilton; special friends, Scott (Sherry) Brenneman; and the wonderful church family.

In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by his infant twin sisters, Connie and Gwenn.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Church at Chapel Hill, 7530 Johnstown Road, Mount Vernon with Pastor Jon Whisner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Church at Chapel Hill.
