DANVILLE — The Knox County Community Health Center will host a Community Appreciation Day event on Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Danville’s Memorial Park, 802 S. Market St. This event is an annual celebration thanking the community for their on-going support.
Different from last year’s event, center staff have chosen to host the event in Danville.
“We have been so lucky to grow the reach of our center by opening a second location in Danville, and we thought it was only fitting to have this year’s event here as well,” said CEO Lane Belangia.
Along with a new location for the event, the center is able to offer more activities in the grassy area of Memorial Park. Appreciation Day will boast a large bounce house, plenty to eat, and even adult flu shots.
In February, the Knox County Community Health Center opened a second office in Danville. The Health Center operates at 16 E. Main St., in the space formerly occupied by Dr. Tidyman and Knox Community Hospital. When the Danville Health Center first opened its doors, a nurse practitioner was available only once a week. Since Sept. 9, the center is staffed full time, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
