FREDERICKTOWN — Joyce (Knight) Combs, 80, of Fredericktown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark. She was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Christine, Kentucky, to the late Coy and Ruthie (Burton) Knight.

Joyce worked for Mazza’s Restaurant as a chef for many years. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, her family and her four legged companions that she loved over the years.

She is survived by her son, Bill (Beth) Combs; grandchildren, Ross (Emily) Carter, Shawn (Desire) Martin; great-grandchildren, Kyle Jones, Christian Carter, Caleb Carter, Willow Martin; sisters, Lillian (Paul) Commer, Carol Kincade; and a son-in-law, Steve Grassbaugh.

Along with her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Earlie Combs; daughter, Sheila Grassbaugh; a sister, Yvonne Garrett; and a brother, Vernon Knight.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Oct. 4, from 1-3 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home; 33 E. College Street, Fredericktown, with a celebration of life service starting at 3 p.m. with Pastor Richard Hasley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
