MOUNT VERNON — Barbara Dial, 87 of Kokomo, Indiana, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at her residence. Barbara was born June 27, 1932, in Gambier to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Ackerman) Beach.

Barbara was proud to be a stay at home mom and raise her children and then she was employed with Bona Vista Housekeeping services.

Surviving are her children, Rebecca Kingan of Kokomo, Indiana, Lynne (Dave) Hurlow of Mount Vernon, Donald Dial of Kokomo, Indiana, and Carolyn (Mike) Smithhisler of Kokomo, Indiana; grandchildren, Susan (Troy) Bex, Todd (Kerrie) Kingan, Jeff (Wendy) Hurlow, Josh (Stacey) Hurlow, Kayla (Zack) White, John Campbell, Doug (Julie) Smithhisler, Audrey (Josh) Griffith; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, James Beach of Mount Vernon and Stephen Beach of Nashville, Tennessee. Besides her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Dial, and sisters, Anna Seitz and Frances Walters.

Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
