CARDINGTON — An adult suspect is in custody after a threat was made toward the Cardington-Lincoln Local School District, according to officials.
Brian Petrie, superintendent, said in a statement Sunday night school officials received information from Cardington Village Police about the threat.
“I can confirm that we received information from the Cardington Village Police that a threat was made toward our district by an adult. Our staff and parents have been informed that the suspect is in custody. In consultation with local law enforcement, we have determined that our schools are safe from the threat and will be open tomorrow,” Petrie said in the statement.
After consulting with law enforcement, Petrie said it was determined the schools are safe from the threat and were open this morning.
Calls to the Cardington Police Department were not returned as of press time.
