MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Players, Knox County’s Oldest, continuously operating theater troupe, are presenting Eric Simonson’s play about iconic coaching legend Vince Lombardi.

Six actors will portray three NFL Hall of Famers, Paul Hornung (Jim Stoner), Jim Taylor (Kevin Hutchison), and Dave Robinson (Dimetrius Caldwell). Lombardi’s wife Marie will be portrayed by Christine Hamilton, and a reporter, sent to Green Bay to rebuke some unfavorable press is portrayed by Seth Bennett. Vince Lombardi will be characterized by Mansfield’s Carl Hunnell.

The play is directed by Jim Stoner, and is scheduled for Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. and Sept. 21 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at The Grand Hotel on the Square in Mount Vernon.
