FREDERICKTOWN — Naomi J. Miller, 85, of Fredericktown, passed away Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home & Health Care Center in Mount Vernon after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Naomi was born Jan. 16, 1934, in Middlebourne, WV, to the late Rolley and Arizona (Smith) Summers. Naomi married James “Russell” Miller on Sept. 5, 1953. Russell preceded her in death on May 27, 2015.

Naomi was a former employee of and retired from Dana Corporation in Fredericktown. She was known for her impeccable housekeeping skills, being a fantastic cook and for her willingness to put others first before herself always.

She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Greg) Bemiller of Mount Vernon and Peggy Miller of Hermitage, TN; her granddaughter, Heather (Ashley) Robinson of Westerville; two great-grandchildren, Isabella and Gavin of Westerville; one sister, Nellie Elliott of Danville; two brothers-in-law, Larry (Julie) Miller of West Sunbury, PA, and John Davis of Dublin, OH; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Naomi was preceded in death by seven brothers and five sisters.

Per Naomi’s wishes, the family will observe a private graveside service.

Naomi’s daughters would like to thank the nurses, aides, chefs and housekeeping staff in the Jasmine Neighborhood at the Ohio Eastern Star Home for the wonderful care and compassion they provided to Naomi for the past several years. Also, a very special thank you to the staff of Kindred Hospice, especially Sharon Probst and Melissa Bradshaw, for their expertise in fulfilling Naomi’s every need during her end-of-life journey and for supporting her daughters every step of the way.
