MOUNT VERNON — Martha L. Magee, 66, of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 18, 2019, at home with family at her bedside after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Mount Vernon to the late Louis C. and Helen (McCann) Kleinman.
Martha attended Saint Vincent de Paul Elementary and graduated from Mount Vernon High School. After she raised her children, Martha went back to school and earned her CMA degree and worked for Knox Surgical for 10 years. She was a faithful member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Martha loved spending time with her family and always offered her love, support and encouragement. She enjoyed traveling, camping, music and gardening. She will be remembered for her joyous energy, her never-ending smile and her love of life.
Martha is survived by her husband of 48 years, Keith; children, Helsa (Jason) King of Mount Vernon and Luke (Jaime) Magee of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Hunter, Ryan, Lexi, Sydney, Graham, Morgan and Quinn; great-grandson, Mason; and her sister, Mary Ann Kleinman of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry and Thomas Kleinman.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon. A prayer service will be held following the visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Father Daniel Olvera as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Mount Vernon.
