MOUNT VERNON — The public is invited to attend a big-screen showing of “E.T.” on Friday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. at the Knox County Memorial Building Theater. Relive the magic and friendship found in this Spielberg 1982 family classic.

Soon, however, E.T. falls ill, resulting in government intervention and a dire situation for both Elliott and the alien. The film is rated PG and has a running time of two hours, one minute.

Snacks and beverages will be offered in Veteran’s Hall starting at 6 p.m. The box office will open at 6 p.m.
