MOUNT VERNON — Worthy E. “Two Feathers” Stanley Jr. brother to the Bear, 71, of Mount Vernon passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at his home.

He was born May 8, 1948, in Hogsett, West Virginia, to the late Worthy and Rose (Turner) Stanley Sr. Worthy was retired from the United States Army after 32 years of service. He served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Theresa Sovine; his daughter, Ida Stanley; his step-daughters, Sioux Irene Sovine, Heidi Varner; and his step-son, Michael Robinson.

In keeping with Worthy’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private memorial gathering at the family home. The Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council will perform military honors at the private gathering.
