MOUNT VERNON — Carole Sue Crouch, 75, of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born Aug. 14, 1943, in Tazewell, Virginia, to the late Campbell and Mabel (Hampton) Fugate.

Carole graduated from Mount Vernon High School and shortly after joined the United States Army. She was an entrepreneur and had several businesses. Carole was a 40-plus year member of the Eagles in Mount Vernon and enjoyed sewing. She loved to collect antiques, specifically light houses. Her family and her K-9 companions were the love of her life.

Carole is survived by her children, Brock (Seanna) Crouch and Ty Ferguson; grandchildren, Bridgette Stachler, Brianna Hunter, Brischeau Lang, Bristyl (Demetrice) Tate and Tabie Goines; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, William, Jeffery and Phillip Hampton; sisters, Patricia Pennell, Rita White and Mary Beth Turberville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Carole is preceded in death by her brothers, James Altizer, David Hampton and a sister, Louise Morrison.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Carole Sue Crouch.
