Army Col. Stephen L. Rhoades of Mount Vernon, an aviator who flew missions over Kosovo in 2004 and 2005 with the 1st Battalion, 137th Aviation Regiment, has thought through the years about what military service has meant to him over his 26-year Army career. He has also thought about the significance of the American flag on his uniform.

News file photo Knox Area Transit’s 10-passenger vans will be seen around Centerburg more often when the Village Express Service begins in the southwestern Knox County village in June. The service, which transports residents to Mount Vernon, will also run from Danville and Fredericktown.

KAT open to offering regional GoBus service

Knox County Commissioners were informed this week that Knox Area Transit (KAT) has been “encouraged” by the Ohio Department of Transportation to consider taking over GoBus routes administration and service between Columbus and Wooster, including service to Knox County.
