MOUNT VERNON — At the YMCA we are excited to be the perfect spot for your whole family to come in and get just what you need to feel refreshed this summer. We are looking forward to having several offerings to keep your family motivated and engaged this summer.

Thursdays, June 13 and 20, at 10 a.m. the YMCA will host the Public Library for the Summer Reading Program activities. Come to the YMCA SportsCenter and enjoy an hour of fun for your children! On June 13 the program features the Columbus Zoo and on June 20 it features SPI Spot.

Tuesdays 9:15 a.m. -10 a.m. will be Youth Enrichment. Youth Enrichment is a fun and safe environment for your child (K-5) to learn something new each week from trusted partners of the YMCA. Work with OSU Extension, United Way, KCH and Psi Iota Xi to bring your child the best possible experience. Each week YMCA’s partners will lead a STEM focused activity. Don’t miss this hands-on enrichment class!

Thursdays 9:15 a.m. – 10 a.m. will be Youth Fitness. Youth Fitness is a fun way for your child (K-5) to get their energy out this summer while you get a great workout in too! These youth fitness classes will be filled with fun kid-appropriate cardio and strength workouts each week.

Both Youth Enrichment and Youth Fitness are free for members, but parents must be in the building throughout the program. Feel free to get a great workout in at the same time! Circuit is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 15 will be the last day for these programs.

Call the YMCA for dates and times if you’re interested in signing your child up for a fun-filled week of gymnastics camp! Your child will learn gymnastics fundamentals in a small coach-to-child ratio. Each week has a theme and your child will get to do a craft and have a snack.

There is no gymnastics experience required for the progressive camps for ages 5 and up. The YMCA also offers specific camps for kids that are currently on the YMCA of Mount Vernon gymnastics team.

Don’t forget about our year-round open swim, family swim, adult fitness classes and fitness center. The YMCA also offers complimentary child watch for children 6 weeks and up. Please check the YMCA website or call the YMCA front desk to get the most up-to-date schedules.
