HOWARD — Rescue and emergency teams from several agencies in Knox County are continuing the search for a man who went missing near Honey Run Park Thursday night.

Authorities were called about a possible drowning on the Kokosing River near the Caves Campground on Austin Road.

A 42-year-old female that was holding onto a branch was rescued but 40-year-old Mark Booth of Mount Vernon was also in the water and has not been located at press time. A group of four people had been tubing on the river when the incident occurred.

Personnel from the Eastern Knox County Fire District and Fredericktown Fire Department responded with dive teams and boats to search the area Thursday night and resumed the search Friday morning, along with emergency services from Danville, among others. Several boats were launched from points along the river this morning.

“They’ll just continue where they left off from last night,” said Sheriff David Shaffer.
