MOUNT VERNON — Richard Kay Wilcoxon, 82, of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the Country Court Nursing Home.

He was born on May 26, 1937, in Toledo, to the late John and Margaret (Beltz) Wilcoxon. Richard was a past member of the Central College Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon, was a Cub Scout Leader, and was on the Boy Scout Round Table. He was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church. Richard was a veteran serving in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife Jennie (Carper) Wilcoxon; his daughters, Pastor Cynthia (Roger Sailor) Williams, Nancy Avery; his son, Mark Avery; and his grandchildren, Rodney Tucker, Anna (David) Walford and Christopher Tucker.

Friends may call on Friday, June 14, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church. A service will follow with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, beginning at 12 p.m. with Bishop Duane Kramer officiating.
