The conditions weren’t ideal for a bake sale. Most of the students at Kenyon College had gone home for summer vacation, leaving Middle Path all but empty. The midday heat and spring humidity kept remaining residents inside. Nevertheless, a determined group of third graders stood in the heart of town with a table of goodies and a handcrafted sign.
