MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Park District invites you to a spring program “A Walk Through the Solar System.” This event will include an ‘out of world’ walking tour of our amazing Solar System led by Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist and Richland Astronomical Society member Chad Ruhl.

The walking tour will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18, at the Kokosing Gap trail shelter house located at the trail parking lot on Mount Vernon Avenue. The event will conclude at 1 p.m.

The tour is designed to reflect the actual scale of our solar system and includes scaled models of the Sun and planets. A two-mile hike out and back (four miles total) will involve a casual walk on the Kokosing Gap Trail with various stops to discuss many interesting aspects of our Solar System.
