MOUNT VERNON — Dogwood Blossoms Chorus, the local chapter of Sweet Adelines International, will be performing at regional competition in Cleveland on May 18, along with 16 other choruses from Great Lakes Harmony Region 17. The region encompasses parts of Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and Pennsylvania and consists of over 800 members in 22 choruses and more than 30 registered quartets.

In preparation for competition, the chorus is hosting a free “Family and Friends Night” on Tuesday evening, May 14, at Central Christian Church, 17833 Gambier Road, at 7:30 p.m. All interested persons are invited to join the chorus members along with their families and friends for a dress rehearsal of this year’s competition numbers and light refreshments. The public is also welcome to view a live webcast of the competition online May 18 at region17online.org/webcast.

Women and girls of all ages who love to sing are invited to visit a rehearsal on most Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. at Central Christian Church, 17833 Gambier Road in Mount Vernon.
