FREDERICKTOWN — Roger E. Dixon, 65, of Fredericktown, died Sunday May 5, 2019, at his residence. Roger was born Sept. 29, 1953, in Greenville to Robert Dixon and Jean (Hilterbran) Dixon.

He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and had been a long distance truck driver for 33 years.

He was a member of the AMVETS in Bellville.

Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Kim (Simmons) Dixon; his step mother, Margaret Crosswhite; his daughter, Frhonda Blair; stepsons, Leslie (Sherri) Chester and Troy (Emily) Chester; two grandchildren, three step grandchildren and a step great-grandson; his brother, Russell (Liz) Dixon; sisters, Belinda (Steve) Wearly, Moleta (Dave) Cramblett and Dee Etta Niece; sisters-in-law, Jean (Lowell) Baxter and Roxanne Morrison; brother-in-law, Gordon (Shirley) Simmons; many nieces and nephews and his feline companion “Spot.” Besides his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Cecil and Velma (Williams) Simmons; brother-in-law and his wife, Gerald and Sandy Simmons.

Friends may call Tuesday, May 7, from 5-7 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown where a funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Kim’s cousin Donald Williams officiating. Military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council will follow the funeral at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
