He didn’t need any runs, but he got 15 of them. Visiting East Knox Bulldogs’ pitcher Nate Friel tossed a four-hit shutout en route to his team’s 15-0 victory over the Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets in the opening game of a non-conference tripleheader at Yellow Jackets Stadium on Saturday.

Man killed in one-car accident

A Fredericktown man was killed and a teenage boy injured in a Friday night crash. Thomas K. Swihart, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene of a fatal crash Friday that occurred at approximately 10:25 p.m. on County Road 5 near County Road 66 in Morris Township.
