MARENGO — The board of education for Highland Local Schools approved four resignations at its regular board meeting Wednesday. Elementary special education instructor Stephanie Hamm, third grade teacher Lisa King, fifth grade teacher Melinda Semerar, and fifth grade teacher Bonita Nauman will be retiring effective May 31.

Also Wednesday, the board:

•Approved one-year contracts for high school Spanish teacher Greta Penix and part time high school social studies teacher Charles Wendt.

•Approved a three-year contract for assistant treasurer Diana Keyes.

•Approved a one-year contract for elementary assistant principal D. Michael Hoyng.

•Approved a two-year contract for Ty Stover as administrator on special assignment.

•Approved various fall coach contracts.

•Approved an agreement with the Knox County Educational Service Center for March 1 through July 31.

•Accepted a donation of $200 to the Highland FFA chapter made in the name of Jack and Mary Jane Kemmer by trustee Vicki (Kemmer) Dyer.
