MOUNT VERNON — Seven out of 10 Knox County Career Center Culinary Arts students who participated in the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Regional Competition have qualified for state! KCCC is one of only two schools in Ohio to have two culinary teams going to state.
One culinary team headed to state competition consists of juniors Hanna Hyde, Hannah Linstedt and Destiny Eutin.
The other is comprised of senior Mya Gonsalves and Sophomores Annabel Brumbley and Emily Adkins.
Junior Skylar Batten will also be competing as an individual in Garde Manger.
Last year Mya Gonsalves, Anna Hobson and David Parsons went to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in the FCCLA National Competition where they won third in the nation — a great achievement!
Gonsalves will be furthering her culinary education after graduating high school.
