Knox County Career Center students Makayla Haxton, Anthony Gilmore and Amaya Copeland will be competing in the State Skills USA Competition April 16 and 17 at the Columbus Convention Center.

MOUNT VERNON — Knox County Career Center sent students to the Southeastern Skills USA Regional Competition at the Buckeye Career Center on Feb. 23.

Tyler Angus competed in Job Interview, Madison Brady competed in Job Skill Demonstration, Jared Cline competed in Welding, Logan Hart competed in CNC Milling and Tyler Tuller competed in Automotive Refinishing Technology.

Competing as the Health Knowledge Bowl Team were Autumn Smith, Ava Wiggand and Abby Hamman.

Amaya Copeland won first place competing in Cosemetology, Makayla Haxton won first place in First Aid/CPR and Anthony Gilmore won third place in Collision Repair Technology.

Copeland, Haxton and Gilmore will compete in the State Skills USA Competition, which will be held April 16 and 17 at the Columbus Convention Center.
