MOUNT VERNON — The April 3 meeting of the Knox County Historical Society will be held at a special location — the newly renovated Woodward Opera House, 107 S. Main St., Mount Vernon.

The Wednesday evening program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will feature an illustrated presentation by Pat Crow, highlighting the long history of the Woodward, followed by a guided tour of the historic theater and related facilities.

The April meeting of the historical society each year also serves as the annual meeting, at which persons are considered for new or continuing appointments as trustees of the organization, and all annual and life members are encouraged to attend. The meeting, however, is free and open to the public, and all persons interested in local history are welcome to attend.

Visitors should arrive before 7:20 p.m. at the 107 S. Main St. entrance, where they will be directed to the meeting area.
