MOUNT VERNON — Willis R. “Will” Slusher, 82, of Grove City, Pa., formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away in Butler Memorial Hospital, Butler, Pa., Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019.

Known as “Will” to family and friends, he was born in Dillman, Ind., Feb. 7, 1936, to Ronald L. and Leota (Risinger) Slusher. He married Thelma Jean “T.J.” Peschel on Sept. 3, 1960.

Will was raised in Dillman, Ind., and graduated from Jackson Twp. High School in 1954. He attended and graduated from Purdue University and was later drafted into the US Army.

Following his military time he became employed as an engineer with Cooper Bessemer in Mount Vernon. He remained with Cooper retiring after 42 years of service working for the company in various positions and locations such as Corry and Grove City, Pa.

He was a member of The Elks Club, Mount Vernon, where he served as past-exulted ruler and sang in the Elks Choir. Also, he was a member of F. and A.M. Lodge, Mount Vernon. While living in Grove City he was a member of Grove City Rotary Club and Tower Presbyterian Church.

His wife T.J. at home, two sons, Gregory A. and wife Pamela, Shelby Township, MI, and Todd E. and fiancée Penny Auman, Greensboro, NC, survive Will. His parents, two sisters, Wilma and Wilda, and a brother, Wilbur, preceded Will in death.

Memorials to

Funeral Service will take place at Tower Presbyterian Church, 248 S. Broad St., Grove City, on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m.

Visitation hours will be at Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, on Friday, Feb. 8, from 5-7 p.m.
