While Mount Vernon City Schools and the Knox County Career Center are engaged in discussions with the City of Mount Vernon concerning a school resource officer, Fredericktown schools and the village have already reached an agreement and, since March, an officer is regularly on site at the school building.
Pending contract negotiations, the Knox County Career Center Board of Education has offered the superintendent position to Kathrine Greenich, current assistant superintendent of the Buckeye Career Center in New Philadelphia.
A long year of highs and lows, and hours upon hours spent learning medical terminology, acquiring knowledge of illnesses and their treatment and practicing clinical skills culminated with joy on Friday when the Knox County Career Center School of Practical Nursing held its 2014 graduation ceremony in the chapel at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
