Preschool pupils enjoy Valentine’s Day fun

Nursing students receive caps

In a tradition that originated with Florence Nightingale, students in the 12-month practical nursing program at the Knox County Career Center on Thursday received nurses’ caps to commemorate the completion of Level I in their pursuit of a nursing career.

Third-grade reading test has high stakes

Third-grade pupils who do not score a 392 on the test will be required to take summer tutoring and take an alternative assessment, an additional expense for school districts as the state does not provide funding for the extra instruction.
