FREDERICKTOWN — It’s Tomato Show time, and Fredericktown second-graders on Wednesday were hard at work on the annual Tomato Creature project.

Combining creativity, manual dexterity and math skills, the pupils devised and developed tomato characters using a variety of materials.

The News visited Kathy Daniels’ class to find out how math skills entered into the equation: Pupils had to purchase the items they wished to use to decorate their tomatoes.
