CENTERBURG — “This is great,” said Gail Edwards of Pataskala as she took a break at the Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival while her granddaughter, Kiersten, 8, enjoyed an ice cream cone. “We’re planning to stay all day.”

She and her husband, Shane Kidwell, were checking the weather reports on their smartphones so their plans were subject to change.

“It’s our first time here. It’s a beautiful place and a family-oriented atmosphere,” she said. Her husband heard about the event from a co-worker in Utica and decided to check it out.
