Camp Hope turns campers into superheroes

Camp Hope is taking over the grounds of Camp Mohaven in Danville this week to provide a fun and safe environment for youth to deal with their grief.
“Superheros” is the theme this year to show the kids that even the heroes that they look up to have struggles they are dealing with personally and that personal loss doesn’t mean someone can’t be a real life Wonder Woman, Spiderman or Superman.

Catfish a good summer catch

While spending some time up north visiting family this past week, I had the opportunity to engage in one of my favorite outdoor activities — fishing.
At dusk, while sitting at the edge of the dock, listening to the lulling sounds of crashing waves and watching the sun’s waning light glitter across the water, I suddenly realized my florescent orange bobber had disappeared from sight.
