Lions, breaks nip Mount Vernon

The Mount Vernon softball team landed the first punch. But, in the end, too many big punches from Gahanna and a few breaks that fell the other way ended up costing the Yellow Jackets, as they fell 13-10 to the Lions in the Division I district championship Saturday at Pickerington Central.

The Trojans started their Division IV district semifinal game with Grove City Christian on Tuesday, playing less than an inning before the game was called due to the weather with Centerburg leading 8-3.
