Fred Main/News Mount Vernon Street Department crew members cut up and chip a tree that fell over power lines on Martinsburg Road near Pine Street, Tuesday afternoon. The road was closed and electrical and phone power were knocked out in the area for nearly an hour. Mount Vernon Street Department Superintendent Tom Hinkle said high winds knocked over the tree and that trees were also downed on Newark Road and Craig Drive.
