GLENMONT — Karen Jane Banbury, 74, of Giffin Road, Glenmont, died Saturday evening, Jan. 19, 2019, in Country Court Nursing Center, Mount Vernon following an extended illness.

Karen was born July 21, 1944, in Mount Vernon and was the daughter of the late Bernard E. and Frida Benge Davis. She lived in northern Knox County most of her life and was a 1962 graduate of Loudonville High School. Karen was a member of the former Jelloway Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and visiting with friends in person and on the telephone. On Sept. 26, 1964 she married Joe Banbury and he died in Feb. 7, 1983.

Karen is survived by two sons, Mark (Kelly) Banbury and Matt (Nicole) Banbury, both of Danville; four grandsons, Jerimiah (Kara) Banbury, Joshua (Mel Alberts) Banbury, Nathan E. (Monica VanAtta) Banbury, and Tanner L. Banbury; two great-grandchildren, Clara Dawn Banbury and Spencer Banbury; one sister-in-law, Debra Davis of Jelloway; and one brother-in-law, Mike Banbury of North Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Gary Davis.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 at noon in Lindsey Funeral Home, Loudonville, with Pastor Patrick Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Danville. Friends may call Thursday, from 11 a.m. to noon (one hour prior to the funeral) in Lindsey Funeral Home.
