MOUNT VERNON — Aubrey Faye Levings, 85, of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at the Country Club Retirement Campus.

She was born April 2, 1933, in Mount Gilead, to the late William Meckley and Louise (Ashbrook) Lawyer. Aubrey was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, was a former member and organist of Faith Baptist Church, was a hospice volunteer for over 13 years, volunteered for Carenet Pregnancy Center and was an active member of the Morrow County Cancer Society. She was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, and loved birds. Aubrey attended community prayer meetings at Mulberry St. United Methodist Church and maintained her own “card ministry” through the mail.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Malinda) Levings; her grandson, Brandon Levings; her brother, Larry (Doris) Meckley; and her sister, Shirley Meckley.

In addition to her parents, Aubrey was preceded in death by her son, David Levings; her granddaughter, Kayla Levings; her-step father, Ira Lawyer; her brother, Dale Boyle; and her sister, Evelyn Tinsley.

Friends may call Wednesday, Jan. 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home. A service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will take place in Shauck Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Knox County or Knox Starting Point.
