FREDERICKTOWN — Norma Jean (Burrell) Schupbach, age 91, of Fredericktown, went home to be with the Lord on Dec. 31, 2018, at Knox Community Hospital.

Norma had resided for the last four years at Morrow Manor Nursing Home in Chesterville. She was born Feb. 15, 1927, in Dundee, Ohio, to the late Worthy R. and Oda (Jones) Burrell.

Norma married Harold H. “Tony” Schupbach on Feb. 18, 1947, and they were the parents of one son, Michael A. (Cynthia) Schupbach of Fredericktown. She is survived by her son; five granddaughters, Stephanie (Steve) Rickly of Shelbyville, Indiana, Jennifer Schupbach of Portland, Oregon, Amy (Steve) Hlad of Cambridge, Heather Gilmore (Tony) Nicol of Galena, and Michelle Gilmore (Brian) Thompson of Fredericktown; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Besides her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. “Tony” Schupbach; a brother, Charles Burrell; and a sister, Mabel Hostetler Gerber.

Norma was an active volunteer for over 40 years at various hospitals including Knox Community, Orrville Dunlap and Massillon Community Hospital. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years. Norma was a long time member of the Methodist Church in Dundee and Dalton, and more recently a member of Overcomers Christian Church in Mount Vernon.

A celebration of life day will be held Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, at the Overcomers Christian Church, 998 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio with Pastor Troy Dugan officiating. A special church service will be held at 10:30 a.m. followed by a lunch for friends and family. At 2 p.m., there will be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church.

The Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown is honored to serve the family of Norma Jean (Burrell) Schupbach.
