ASHLAND — Passages is a support group for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one and are looking for a safe space to process grief, assured they are not alone. The next 11-week series begins Monday, Jan. 14, and meets weekly on Monday evenings.

In addition, the following monthly support groups are available for more defined situations. A Parents’ Grief Support Group meets every second Tuesday; a Grievers of Suicide Group meets every second Thursday; and a Pregnancy/Infant Loss Group meets every third Thursday.

All grief support groups are open to the public and free. The meetings take place at Hospice of Knox County (HKC), 17700 Coshocton Road, in Mount Vernon, from 5:30-7 p.m. They are facilitated by HKC’s Bereavement Counselor Kathy Wantland, LSW. Free individual counseling is also available for anyone living with grief.

A Bible study called Journey for Hope has recently formed and also meets at HKC on the first Mondays of the month from noon to 1 p.m. Scriptures of significance to those moving through their own grief journeys are read together and discussed.
