MOUNT VERNON — A homeless man wanted in a stabbing incident has so far eluded capture.

Police have received some leads regarding Andrew C. Newcomb, 34, but none have panned out, Mount Vernon Police Detective Sgt. Beth Marti said this morning.

Newcomb has been wanted since Tuesday morning as a suspect in a stabbing incident on Shirley Avenue.

A man and a woman received stab wounds, and another woman was struck by a baseball bat.

A warrant has been issued for Newcomb’s arrest, and adult probation has placed a holder on Newcomb for when he is picked up.
