MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Career Center is hosting two auctions to benefit Food For The Hungry.

The first is an online silent auction featuring five themed gift baskets.

Go to www.foodforthehungrycares.org to place your bid. Click on the auctions button and then on KCCC Online Auctions.

Take a few simple steps to create an account and then enter a bid on your favorite gift basket.

The themed baskets include: A wedding basket valued at $2,500; a mom’s night out basket valued at $1,200; an auto care basket valued at $1,500; a vacation basket valued at $1,200; and an OSU basket valued at $200.

Bidding ends at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. The winning bidders will be announced at the Food For The Hungry broadcast at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.

The Knox County Career Center is also hosting a live auction of the one-of-a-kind, original Tailgate Trailer, CAR-B-Q.

This custom cut and fabricated 1968 Pontiac GTO Tailgate Trailer has features such as:

•Under the Hood – 6 Burner Charbroil Grill with side burner;

•Propane Fuel – 2 tanks attached;

•Center features a Wood Fired Smoker;

•Rear features a large Flat-Top Griddle;

•Original Old School Lights;

•Designed light enough to be pulled by a car;

•Custom Cut and Fabricated; and

•Diamond Plate Toolbox to store all your supplies.

The CAR-B-Q was funded and built by Tim Hall and the KCCC Collision Repair Lab to benefit Food For The Hungry.

The highest bid will be taken into the live auction that will begin at 1:06 p.m. during the Food For The Hungry broadcast at the Knox County Memorial Theatre.

The Knox County Career Center Tailgate Trailer can be viewed at these upcoming events: Mount Vernon Christmas Parade and Walk, Sunday, Nov. 25; and MVNU Men and Women’s basketball games, Saturday, Dec. 1.
