CLEVELAND — The North Coast Athletic Conference announced Thursday the names of those players who made the 2018 All-NCAC football team. Among the honorees were Kenyon College senior Ian Robertson and junior Chase Kirol, who both earned honorable mentions.

Robertson, a receiver, concluded his final collegiate season in record-breaking fashion. Over the course of the 10-game schedule, he hauled in 101 receptions, topping the previous Kenyon single-season record of 99 set by Brian Hunca in his senior year of 2016. Those 101 catches covered 1,203 yards and included five touchdowns. His yardage total was the fourth-best, single-season mark in program history.

Now a two-time All-NCAC honoree, Robertson’s final career numbers include 2,754 receiving yards, which ranks seventh all-time at Kenyon, as well as 235 receptions and 21 receiving touchdowns, totals that both rank fourth all-time at Kenyon.

Part of the reason Robertson was able to pile up those impressive statistics was the play of the Kirol, an offensive lineman who created enough time for pass plays to develop. From his left tackle position, Kirol helped the Lords average 287.8 yards of offense per game throughout the 2018 season. He battled injury early in the season, but managed to play in the team’s final nine games to collect the first All-NCAC honor of his career.
