MANSFIELD — Seven Mount Vernon High School football players were honored by the Ohio Cardinal Conference with selections to the league’s postseason All-Conference teams.

Juniors Austin Kerr and Ryan Tiell led the team honorees with selection to the First Team. Kerr, an offensive tackle, did not allow a sack all season while also playing on the defensive line. There, he made 52 tackles (19 solo), six sacks and 10 tackles for loss. At 6-foot-1, 280 pounds, he also played at running back, gaining 98 yards on 15 carries.

Tiell, a linebacker/safety, had 28 solo tackles among his total of 85. He also boasted nine tackles for loss and four pass breakups.

Senior Harry Ogle (90 tackles, 4 sacks, 8 TFL) and junior Will Small were chosen to the Second Team, and senior Noah Hubbard (38.8 avg. on punts), junior Wyatt Gregory and sophomore Easton Groom earned Honorable Mention.

Wooster earned three of the conference’s top honors, led by Coach of the Year Doug Haas. The Generals’ Dylan Dagley was named the OCC Offensive Player of the Year, and teammate Joseph Stoll was chosen as the Special Teams Player of the Year. Lexington’s Cade Stover earned Defensive Player of the Year.
