MARTINSBURG — Velma Marie Glancy, 74, formerly of Martinsburg, passed away Oct. 19, 2018, at the Centerburg Pointe Nursing Home. She was born April 23, 1944, in Knox County, to Ray D. and Martha M. (Veatch) Wilt.

Velma was a 60-year member of the Martinsburg Church of Christ and former member of the Bladensburg Fire Department Womans Auxillary. She was a retired school bus driver for North Fork School where she was employed for several years. She enjoyed traveling on her husband’s motorcycle.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Keith Glancy; four sons; Shaun (Tammy) Glancy of Newark, Aaron Glancy of Newark, Jason (Tammy) Glancy of Martinsburg and Brian Glancy of Utica; 10 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; one sister, Mary Jo (Larry) Grant of Martinsburg; and one brother, Danny (Sue) Wilt of Buckeye Lake.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and James Wilt.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held for Velma (Wilt) Glancy on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m., at the Martinsburg Church of Christ, 126 South St., Martinsburg. The family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m., prior to the service.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Bladensburg Fire Department in Velma’s memory.

The family would like to thank the staff at Centerburg Pointe Nursing Home and staff at Capital City Hospice for their care.
