MOUNT VERNON — Mary Elizabeth Reiss, 72, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at the Country Court Care Center in Mount Vernon. She was born Sept. 5, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late George Reinicker and Jessie Sheridan (Lynch) Granger.

Mary attended Glen Burnie High School in Glen Burnie, Maryland. She worked at Small’s Sand and Gravel in Gambier for over 30 years. Mary loved work and enjoyed her time at Small’s Sand and Gravel. Her greatest enjoyment was being around her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.

Mary is survived by her children, Mike (Kim) Reiss of Fredericktown, Dan Reiss of Mount Vernon, Shari (Howie) Miller of Fredericktown; daughter-in-law, Erika Reiss of Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Ryan, Emma, Nikki, Noah, Caroline, Gracie, Joshua Reiss, Madison and Walker Miller; sister, Patricia Tanner of Sandersville, Georgia; several nephews; former husband, Paul (Bev) Reiss.

Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her brother, George Granger; a brother-in-law, Wilmer Tanner.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, at 4:30 p.m., with an hour of visitation beginning at 3:30 p.m., at New Life Community Church, 9955 Mount Gilead Road, Fredericktown, OH 43019.
