JELLOWAY — Donald R. Snyder, 89, of Jelloway, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon, after a brief illness. Donald was born in Fredericktown on May 19, 1929, to the late Alva and Martha (Martz) Snyder.

Donald graduated from Danville High School. After high school he was drafted into the US Army and served his country proudly in Korea. Donald, “mayor of Jelloway,” worked at Flxible Corp. for 40 years and also worked with his son Dave on the farm. He attended Jelloway Methodist Church. Donald’s greatest love and enjoyment was his grandkids.

He is survived by his son, Dave (Nanette) Snyder; grandchildren, Heath and Sydney Snyder; brother, Ralph Snyder; sisters, Velma Hunt and Helen Oney; several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Phyllis (Hillier) Snyder; son, Duane Snyder; sister, Mary Jenkins; brothers, Clarence and Roy Snyder.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, Oct. 7, at Jelloway United Methodist Church, 21248 Wooster Road, Danville, OH 43014, at 1:30 p.m. Burial will take place in Jelloway Cemetery.
