MOUNT VERNON — Two Columbus men are facing felony drug trafficking charges following a raid on a Mount Vernon residence.
Antonio M. Bolden Jr., 24, and Shawn R. Thompson, 25, are charged in Mount Vernon Municipal Court each with one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs, a third-degree felony, and aggravated possession of drugs, a second-degree felony. Bolden is further charged with a second count of aggravated possession of drugs, also a second-degree felony.
The charges stem from Monday, when tactical units from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and Mount Vernon Police Department served a warrant at a 500 block East Gambier Street residence.
The charges were filed Wednesday. They allege that Bolden and Thompson sold drugs within 1,000 feet of a school and possessed 74 grams of meth.
The second aggravated possession charge against Bolden allege he was in possession of 28 grams of black tar heroin.
Knox County Prosecuting Attorney Chip McConville said $1,700 in cash was also seized as a result of the search warrant.
Bolden and Thompson were arrested Monday when the search warrant was served. Other individuals present at the residence may be charged as well, McConville said.
