MANSFIELD — A manhunt continues today as several law enforcement agencies search for a Pennsylvania man wanted on allegations of threatening to harm or kill a district attorney, a police chief, law enforcement officers and President Donald Trump.
Shawn R. Christy is believed to have wrecked a stolen vehicle from Pennsylvania on I-71, between the Ohio 13 and 39 exits, Sunday. Authorities confirmed Christy has a history of theft at the same business that owns the 2002 GMC utility truck found Sunday afternoon.
According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Christy “allegedly posted the threats on Facebook between June 3 and 12, 2018, saying that he was going to shoot President Trump in the head, and was going to use ‘lethal force’ on any law enforcement officer attempting to detain him.”
Christy, 26, was charged with interstate communication of threats and threats against the president of the United States. An arrest warrant was issued June 19.
He is described as a caucasian male, 165 pounds, green eyes, brown hair and has a tattoo of barbed wire and a cross on his upper right arm.
Christy is believed to be armed and dangerous. Anyone who recognizes him should stay safe and call 911 or the Ohio State Highway Patrol at 419-756-2222. There is a $10,000 reward, according to the FBI, for information leading to his arrest. Additional reward funds may be available from U.S. Secret Service and U.S. Marshals Services.
