NEWARK — Licking Valley kept piling on the points Friday in its Licking County League game against Utica, scoring at least one touchdown per quarter to keep the visiting Redskins winless, 45-0.

QB Chase Whisner ran for three TDs and 96 yards for the Panthers (2-2), and Mitchell Ford rushed 10 times for 151 yards. Whisner was also 7 of 9 through the air for 75 yards.

The Redskins (1-3) gave up 423 yards while gaining 208. They ran for 85 yards on 33 carries, and QB Collin McCullough was 7 of 16 passing for 118 yards, part of 123 total passing yards. Utica QBs, however, threw three interceptions to hinder the offense, and the team committed 11 penalties for 95 yards.

Hayden Hile struck for a 6-yard touchdown with 8:08 left in the first quarter for a 7-0 Licking Valley lead, and Whisner scored from 17 yards at the 2:16 mark for a 14-0 score. Whisner’s 5-yard scamper with 3:02 to play in the second left the Panthers up, 21-0, at the break.

Ford contributed an 8yard TD run in the third quarter, and Whisner had a 24-yard TD run with 1:47 remaining in the period to set the running game clock in motion.

Logan Bragg punched in from 1 yard out in the fourth quarter.

Mack Marston led Utica rushers with 11 carries for 49 yards, and Garrett Meyers ran eight times for 38 yards. Clayton Cummons had a good night receiving with 80 yards on three catches, and Marston caught four passes for 38 yards.

Utica continues Licking County League action next Friday at home against Granville, starting at 7 p.m.
