MOUNT VERNON — Steven W. Roeder of Calgary, Alberta, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away Nov. 8, 2017, surrounded by his wife of 36 years, Elaine, his children, Jeremiah Roeder, Anita Bailey, and Karen Lockyear, and grandchildren.

Steven was born Feb. 19, 1950, in Lima. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1968 and moved to Canada in 1970 where he pursued a career in home building and design. Steve was a gentle, loving and beloved husband, father and grandfather.

Predeceased by his mother, Evelyn Roeder, he leaves behind his parents, Jim and Jane Roeder, brothers, Mike (Ann) of Michigan and Kurt (Nancy) of Missouri, sister Chris of Mount Vernon, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Steven’s remains will be brought back to Ohio, where he will be interred in the Amity Cemetery in Mount Vernon Saturday, Aug. 25 at 3 p.m.

Pastor John Capper will officiate a Celebration of Life at the gravesite.
